Clara Koester, Business Manager & Depot Services Manager

Clara joined Global Technical Systems in November 2012 as Business Manager.  Her duties at GTSI include payroll functions of recording keeping and pay processing, accounts payable processing.  Also filing state and local sales, use, and excise tax returns which includes retaining necessary documentation on record for tax status of customers and vendors.  She requests and retains certification of insurance for customers and vendors.  She reviews the general journal accounts, monitors company banking accounts and completes bank statement reconciliations for those accounts.  Included is preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports.   Since 2021 she has assumed duties of Depot Services Manager.  GTSI’s Repair Depot department serves as the main location for equipment analysis and repair for the company.

Clara grew up in Jasper County IL, graduating from Newton Community High School in 1989.  After high school she attended Lake Land College and graduated with an AAS degree.  She then earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in Accounting at Eastern Illinois University in 1994.  She worked for several area businesses doing accounting and business functions before joining GTSI in 2012.

Clara lives in Effingham, IL with her husband, Gregory, and their three children, Hannah, Chloe and Gabriel.  She is a member of Sacred Heart Church in Effingham.  She serves with her husband on the Church summer picnic committee in charge of the fried chicken dinner.  She is active with BSA Scouts of America as her son Gabriel works toward receiving his Eagle Scout rank and certification.  She serves the Effingham community in general as a multiple year member of the Human Relations Commission for the City of Effingham.  She enjoys reading, outdoor activities, and entertaining the family’s three dogs.
